About the Library:
The Gertrude C. Miller Library provides library services in the Rockport Middle/High School. At the present time, it is staffed by one part time professional librarian and one library assistant. The library is open when school is in session. It has approximately 9,100 books, 7 periodicals, 6 Nooks and 5 Chromebooks for homework and independent research. The library seats about 60 students out of a total combined population of roughly 370 students. The adjoining computer lab provides 25 computers for use by classes. Students can access the Internet, electronic databases and eBooks for research.
Philosophy:
The library is an area of the school where students have the opportunity to be effective users of information. Information for research and personal enrichment is available in the library through books, newspapers, magazines, and electronic formats. Students are encouraged to be active learners in the library. The library staff strives to offer an atmosphere of mutual respect and courtesy. The library endeavors to be helpful in assisting students and others in the learning community. The library is a place for quiet serious research, independent study or reading.

Use of the library is a privilege, which can be revoked indefinitely or
permanently for failure to follow the rules
