Dear RMHS Families,

This has been a busy week for both students and staff as we work to establish systems and reinforce our common expectations across all grade levels. We are proud and impressed with our students for successfully adapting to the new cell phone policy and their new schedules.

The students continue to bring positive energy and ideas to the new systems and opportunities available to them. The middle school hosted Student Council elections this past week. Kudos to everyone who was brave enough to run for these important roles and congratulations to our new leaders!

This week, we will continue to cultivate the culture and common expectations we seek to create. We hope to see families of senior students (grade 12) at the Post-Secondary Planning Night on Wednesday and all families at the Open House this coming Thursday. Please see below for more details on the upcoming family events below.

To simplify the communication process for families, we have streamlined all communications to run through the RMHS Main Office. Please use the main number for routine inquiries: 978-546-1234. For a more detailed chart of counselors, and other support personnel, please use the chart below to help navigate our current team of people and systems available to support you and your child throughout their academic journey.

Why Attendance Matters

Being in school and on time is extremely important to your child's success. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they stay engaged in their learning, build strong relationships, and develop solid study habits. We appreciate your partnership with this and encourage frequent communication if there are obstacles that exist throughout the year.

The cafeteria and library are open at 7:00 am and free breakfast is available for all students. The main hallways and classrooms open at 7:25 am.

Rockport DECA News

The Rockport High School DECA chapter is trying to bring back the DECA the Halls Holiday Inn and Home Tour this December. The chapter ran this successfully from 2012-2019. To make this happen we need at least 6 homes for the tour. If you or someone you know who might be interested, contact advisor, Scott Larsen, at slarsen@rpk12.org. I can provide you with more information.

Counseling Connections

Seniors, Class of 2027:

Post-secondary Planning Night will be held in the RHMS Cafeteria on Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Bring your questions for the counselors! Students and families are encouraged to attend.
College Admission Representatives will be visiting RHS Guidance starting on September 17th. Seniors and Juniors are welcome. Please get permission from your teachers before attending and sign up in Naviance to secure your participation.

Coming soon: Plymouth State University, Gordon College, URI, and Boston University.

Juniors & Sophomores, Classes of 2028 & 2029:

Last Call: The PSAT/NMSQT for Juniors and Sophomores will be offered this year during the school day on October 21st. We strongly encourage all JUNIORS to register!! You will find the registration form and payment information in your first-day packets. If you need financial assistance, please come to Guidance. Registration Forms must be turned into Guidance ASAP!!!

ALL Students:

Add/Drop: The Add/Drop period for Semester 1 schedule changes is closed.
College & Career Fair: All high school students and families are encouraged to participate on Wednesday, September 30th, from 6-7:30 pm at Ipswich High School, Lower Gymnasium, 134 High Street, Ipswich.
Community Service is a graduation requirement. Check your respective Class Board or Aspen account to see earned community service hours. Please check the school website or bulletin board outside of Guidance for opportunities.
